New show dates announced! Please check out the gigs page.

Ohhhhh, the confusion! When are we playing Hollywood Park? Why is it named Hollywood
Park if it's really in Inglewood? And most important of all, why, when we are
playing a horse-racing venue, is Mike Davis not able to join us?
Let’s start with the first question… Dramarama will be playing Hollywood
Park (certainly our instruments, maybe the ponies), Friday May 18th. This is
an all ages event, get there before the 7th race of the night and the show is
free with your admission into the race track...arrive after the 7th race, admission
is $20.00.
Second question…I haven’t got a clue.
Third and most important… Our MVP bass player/chef extraordinaire Michael
Davis, who is now and has been the chef in charge at the legendary Turf Club
at Santa Anita (another track) for several seasons, will not be joining us on
this particular weekend because he's being flown out to Maryland for the Preakness
(2nd of horse racing's Triple Crown), to cook for the elite who will meet to
eat his fine creations...he will be missed, but he will also be back.
The Dramarama low-end will be provided that weekend by the lovely and talented
Mr. Brian Mastalski, who will also be filling in on the next night, Saturday,
5/19, when we will be heading up the coast to the San Luis Obispo area to headline
a benefit for the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation (aarbf.org).. The show will
take place at Mongo's Saloon, located at 359 West Grand Avenue in the beautiful
town of Grover Beach, CA... sorry to say it's 21 and over, so don't bring the
children...
MD returns for our show on 6/1 at the brand new House Of Blues in Dallas, Texas...and
just added, a date at Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco on 7/21...
Speaking of triumphant returns, I'm happy to say that Tony Snow has come back
to the drum throne after taking some time off since shattering his leg on New
Year's Day... our first rehearsal found him in finest form, causing one to wonder
if perhaps the injury has improved his skills...hard to believe, I know, but
wait till you see/hear him this spring/summer... wow wow wee wow! Many, many
Thanks to Mark B., who has been taking Tony's place and doing an amazing job!
More dates will be forthcoming, and I'll try to remember to keep you posted!
So, there you have it:
May 18 Hollywood Park, Inglewood
May 19 Mongo’s Saloon SLO area
June 1 HOB Dallas
July 21 Café Du Nord San Fran
As always, thanks 1,000,000!

SD Saturday Night AND Sunday Morning + more...
Hi everybody!
That's right...in addition to our big show this Saturday night with Bow Wow
Wow & Animotion at the fabulous House Of Blues in San Diego, I'll be waking
up early and heading over to the Karl Strauss Brewery Pub (located at 9875 Scranton
Road in Sorrento Mesa) for 91X's Resurrection Sunday Blood Drive with our dear
friend and longtime 91X DJ, Mister Steve West...It goes from 8 am to noon, but
I'll probably get there closer to 9 or 10 am....
In East Coast news, I've been invited to take part in this year's Light Of Day
benefits, which will be taking place December 1, 2 & 3...more details as
we receive them...
And don't forget, it's another New Year's Eve in NJ w/Dramarama at the Surf
Club in Ortley Beach...
Lastly, thanks 1,000,000 to everybody who tried to cheer me up after my last
blast ("the 'curse' of Dramarama"), but honestly, it was just me trying
to be funny as I announced the cancellation of the 10/29 concert with Devo...I'm
really okay and, to be honest, believe we've had far more good luck than bad
over the years.
all the best, always
sincerely

The "Curse" of Dramarama
In 1989, Dramarama is signed to Chameleon Records...after releasing "Stuck
In Wonderamaland," the company is sold and moves offices from California
to New York City, all the bands except us are dropped from the label, and many
fine folks lose their jobs... In 1993, soon after releasing "Hi Fi Sci
Fi," Chameleon Records itself goes out of business, and many fine folks
lose their jobs... In 2005, 33rd Street Records, a division of Tower Records,
releases "Everybody Dies"...less than one year later, Tower Records
goes out of business, and many fine folks lose their jobs... ..and every TV
show we were ever on was canceled soon after, with the exception of David Letterman,
who only had to change networks... This Sunday's show with Devo has been canceled...we're
still on in San Diego at the House Of Blues on 11/4... Now comes word that we'll
be playing at Joey Harrison's Surf Club on New Year's Eve in Ortley Beach, NJ...I
have my fingers crossed....

Spooky Scary Stuff
It is indeed an honor and privilege for us to be appearing in the opening slot
at this Friday's Johnny Vatos/X show at L.A's legendary Greek Theatre...we are
scheduled to go on at 7:30 and will be playing a relatively brief (for us) 40-minute
set, but...I saw X recently and was just as completely blown away by them as
I was 23 years ago--in fact, I daresay they're even better than they were back
then... and "Johnny Vatos' Tribute to Halloween" is the now-annual
Oingo Boingo celebration which features much of the original band...how cool
is that? beyond that, we've got 2 more shows in Southern California coming up,
on 10/29 at the Grove in Anaheim opening up for a whole bunch of bands, including
Devo, Bow Wow Wow and many more (this show was originally scheduled for Phoenix,
but was cancelled and moved to Anaheim a week later...don't ask me why...) and
then on 11/4 in San Diego at House Of Blues, again with Bow Wow Wow... if you're
in the area, we sincerely hope you can make it to one of the shows, but either
way, thanks 1,000,000 for everything.|
sincerely

Just wanted to let everyone know the band will not be playing Labor Day weekend
in NY at The Underscore. The club had offered the date, but it doesn't work
out for some band members, John included. Also, thanks to everybody who came
out to the shows last week on the east coast...we had a lot of fun and hope
to get out on the road again real soon!
All the best, always

The Fresno show, scheduled for May 4, 2006, has been cancelled. The promoter
went out of business, unfortunately. But we do have a show in Tempe, AZ, Saturday
May 13th, at the Last Exit Bar. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
all the best

The Phoenix 03.17.06 show's been cancelled due to cold feet on the part of the
station and the promoters...on the bright side, the promoter has promised to
get us back there in the next few months in a small club setting...I'm crossing
my fingers.... beyond that, and for the first time ever, I'll be beating Ticketmaster
(and George Paul, Laura Schneider, and/or Ida Miller, for that matter) to the
punch by announcing that this year, for the first time in nigh on 10 years,
we'll be celebrating Cinco De Mayo with a rousing fiesta in California at the
Anaheim House Of Blues...on sale soon...I offer my most sincere apologies to
our dear friends in NJ, but I only took this gig after I heard (through the
Dramaramaland grapevine, thank you Miss Laura) that our coveted slot had been
taken by a Sublime cover band called Badfish (uggh, the indignity and the sorrow)...but
fear not; I'm pretty sure we'll be out there some time this summer season, but
you never know...could be sooner, could be later.... oh well, way it goes....thanks
for everything,
all the best

Hey
everybody! I'm happy to announce that I've accepted a most kind and generous
offer from "wizz," the brilliantly talented young man behind the excellent
DRAMARAMAFAN.COM site, to help me with johneasdale.com...and y'all know (especially
if you've spent any time surfing around this site in the past) that I can use
all the help I can get!
Texas was a blast, and we're looking forward to visiting both Phoenix and San
Francisco later this month...no other news at the moment, but with any luck,
many exciting things will be happening in the months to come, not the least
of which is the long overdue re-vamp of this site!
thanks 1,000,000 to each and every person who reads these words...
sincerely, je

Here
are some links for some really nice, new press regarding the album/band:
All
Music Guide (4 stars! woo hoo!)
New York Daily News (A seasonal "things to do" list...you have to scroll a little way down to get to the part about us...)
Tucson Weekly (A nice review...)
Montclair Times (Cool article by Jai Agnish that's running in several NJ newspapers...)
And I'm proud to be playing at the first West Coast benefit for Light Of Day on December 12 at House Of Blues on the Sunset Strip, along with many other terrific artists. Click here for info/tickets. In other news. the iTunes MusicStore has added some of our music to their inventory, including Cinema Verite, Box Office Bomb, Bent Backed Tulips, Bright Side and (of course) "everybody dies"...lastly, we've been having fun with our MySpace page, shifting the music and adding all sorts of clickability in the text areas...move your mouse around the page and enjoy. As you can see from the new graphic I've just placed here on the front page,
10-25-05 is the scheduled release date for the new album. Yes, we've been this
close before, but I'm hoping that this time it will all go smoothly. The record
will
be released on Harvey * through 33rd St. Records/Bayside Distribution, a company
owned by Tower Records. I'm also talking to some nice folks about online/digital
distribution, not only for the new record, but some of the older stuff as well.
I've got my all my fingers AND toes crossed! Thanks to each and every one of
you who have written and/or come to shows and said, "Hello." I apologize for
being a poor correspondent...I definitely read every e-mail that comes to me
at john@johneasdale.com, but I just don't seem to have the time to reply to every
single one...sorry!

"everybody dies," which
WAS scheduled to be released through HARVEY*/Integrity Records on June 21,
has been delayed for reasons beyond our control (anybody who subscribes to
our Yahoo
Group knows some of the details...if you haven't already, you should sign up!).
We are already in discussions with another distributor, and will hopefully
have the record available within the next 90 days...if not sooner! In the meantime,
we've been playing with the possibilities
of
MySpace. Click
here if you'd like to check out our progress...we'll be putting up different
unreleased/live/bonus tracks, which will change periodically...there's already
stuff up there...check it out!

The Newcomers are playing a Tsunami relief benefit March 9 at UCLA's Bradley
International
Hall, (located at 417 Charles E. Young Drive West. Show starts at 7; We go
on around
9
and
our
set
is
gonna
be
brief....Pete
can't
make
it,
hence the billing discrepancies...speaking of Tsunami Relief, Dramarama has
contributed a track to OF HANDS & HEARTS, a 2-CD compilation that's due out in stores
mid-month...and in other charitable news, the nice folks at Fox Sports Radio
have put out a new, cleverly titled CD called "Fox Sports Radio Fan Jams"
and they were nice enough to ask
us to record a cover
of Queen's "We Will Rock You." So we did. It's only available at FYE.com and
at
all Coconuts and Strawberries outlets, as well as all FYE locations. Proceeds
benefit
the
Boys and
Girls
Clubs of America. I apologize to all independent retailers, and all the children
of the rest of the world.

I've been invited to participate in this year's "Light Of Day" benefits,
which
will be taking place November 5, 6 & 7 at the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury
Park,
NJ...the shows, which benefit Parkinson's and Lou Gehrig's, have become an annual
event and sell out rather quickly, so I'm told. For more info, surf on over to
www.lightofday.org...Dramarama guitarist Peter Wood is currently in the process
of assembling
a
hot,
all-Jersey
band
for the show...we're scheduled to play on Sunday night, 11/7...I have no idea
how long our set is or what time we go on, but please try to make it out...it's
